Maryann McCarthy, O.M.D., A.P.

is a nationally licensed, Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist with over 30 years of experience. She received her Doctorate degree from San Francisco College of Oriental Medicine, and has successfully treated thousands of patients over the years.

Originally licensed in California in 1983, she practiced on Cape Cod, Massachusetts for over two decades. In 2008/9 she moved her practice to West Palm Beach, Florida where she has joined a group of holistic practitioners.

As a clinical instructor in California at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture, she helped to devise the clean needle technique course for the national certification exam (NCCAOM). Women's health issues related to menopause, fertility, breast health, and hormonal imbalances are a sub-specialty of Dr. Maryann's as are men's issues related to prostate and the aging process. As an herbalist and nutritional counselor Maryann works with whole food supplements and herbs to address deficiency's in the body and examines how to mitigate the negative side effects of western medications.

Maryann incorporates her 20 years of meditation practice to guide her patients towards greater self-awareness. We all have challenges during our life, but how do we meet them? Are we eating consciously, are we exercising our bodies, are we opening through the breath? These practices are offered as a part of the healing process.
